   Professor Idnani's Thesis

Are Corporates really investing or simply taking care day to day needs to exist in the competitive world?

I would work on a select group of organizations, these would necessarily be the ones who have a reputation for large commitment towards training and try to understand their underlying philosophy. The insight would be sought with a series of meetings with Training and Development Divisions, Consultants, External sources such as Corporate Trainers. In addition to Specimen Forms and data collection techniques an attempt shall be made to understand what the Current Corporate Training needs are. How academic institutions would fit into the day to day hustle bustle of Corporate Life and propose ways and means to enhance the same. Techniques which are currently used shall be enumerated and key areas where in developmental suggestions can be given shall be taken up.
For instance, it is seen that Case Study analysis is a very effective tool to understand Business situations and impart business decision making education.

Here I would like to look at a Case Study with more than one perspective for better analysis. The role the Cases would play within the organization once the Trainee goes back to the work place. Given the constraints of the data given in Case studies would it be wise to have it administered by Experienced Professionals.

While evaluation the Importance of Professional Corporate Trainer ,various criteria would be illustrated and tested so as to give us a near perfect resource who would be one of the key change agents for the Corporate and not a mere Course Conductor.

Having understood what  the corporate training agenda today offers ,will then make an effort to then understand from the Employees perspective what are his expectations ,roles ,duties ,responsibilities.
Is he in the frame of mind to learn and earn, has he realized that in today’s world ,its survival of the one who is constantly learning and not one who has learnt long time ago and now hibernating in a corporate environment .
Developing Corporate Training Programmes which Industry specific are taking into account the various aspects relation to Knowledge Management, the contemporary schools, their views, Indian Business Environment shall be the crux of my Research.
The Social Impact of Training while Learning, the bearing on Human Capital, the Relevance of In-house Training Division, Outsourcing Training to Academic Institutions shall be a part of my study.
I am keen to create awareness among corporate that it makes much more sense to invest in Training and Development needs of its employees as it makes in giving them ESOPs. One Teaches you to Fish other simply Provides for Fish.
      According to Senge:
Real learning gets to the heart of what it means to be human. Through learning we re-create ourselves. Through learning we become able to do something we never were able to do.

Through learning we reprieve the world and our relationship to it. Through learning we extend our capacity to create, to be part of the generative process of life.

There is within each of us a deep hunger for this type of learning.

My research will make an attempt to execute this beautiful thought, along the way I shall attempt to develop tools which shall enhance Human Capital, look into the Retention related issues which organisations are looking for, at the same time ensure a meaning full existence to employees in Corporate, try and look at the Japanese model where employees work for a life time with an organisation.

Learning to Learn is an area which will look at Skill gaps, relate skill gaps to Age, Education and other demographic parameters.

Attitude, Lifestyles and Beliefs of employees. Propose to set up dynamic corporate courseware with technology assistance. Also synthesize elements of learning from the ancient Indian stream such as Yoga, Stress Management, and Ayurveda etc. The concept is to devise an exciting Corporate Training Programmed which is composite in nature and has the ability to deliver to productivity requirement of Industry. It is also very flexible to adapt to the needs of different industry.

It relates to the human elements of bonding, harmony, learning, self esteem, growing and enrichment.
